Welcome to the UW Mosses and Lichen Blog! 

We are a group of students in a Natural Hisory class working to catalog the mosses and lichens on the University of Washington Seattle Campus. We hope this blog will serve as a platform for continuing research for mosses and lichens in the Pacific Northwest. Hope you're lichen it!

• Some Arctic lichens are over 4,000 years old
• Many lichens are used in perfumes
• Lichen is sometimes used in making vodka and brandy
• About 50 different birds use lichen to build their nests
• Lichen is in Tom's deodorant
